Televised series capturing the rich diversity, history, and value of the fiber arts in a modern, approachable context. Featured interviews with makers, educators, authors, ranchers, curators, and others with a focus on inspiring a renewed understanding and respect for textiles as art and craft, and as a worthy pastime or profession. Topics ranged widely to demonstrate the breadth and impact of this category, from segments highlighting the tactile beauty and pleasure of textiles, to ‘how-to’ instruction, to understanding the origin of fibers, to exploring the social, economic, and gender politics of textiles as a source of economic means, historically and in modern cultures.
